The ESG4PMChange project reached a broad and diverse audience at the “Discover the North-East” Tourism Gala, a major regional event bringing together public institutions, businesses, and innovation stakeholders to explore future-oriented development strategies.

Bridging Tourism, Innovation, and Sustainability

While the event focused on tourism and regional growth, it also provided a valuable platform to introduce ESG principles in project management to a wider community of decision-makers and practitioners.

European Academy contributed with a presentation on digital innovation in tourism, using the opportunity to connect these themes with:

  • the growing importance of ESG in public and regional development projects
  • the role of sustainable project management in driving responsible innovation
  • the relevance of ESG4PMChange for institutions managing EU-funded initiatives

Engaging a Wide Network of Stakeholders

The event gathered over 250 participants, including:

  • regional and local authorities
  • ministries and public administration representatives
  • universities and VET providers
  • SMEs, innovation hubs, and project stakeholders

Although tourism was the central theme, many attendees were directly involved in project planning, funding, and policy development, making them highly relevant for ESG4PMChange outreach.

Raising Awareness Through Dialogue

Beyond formal presentations, the event enabled informal exchanges and targeted discussions, allowing ESG4PMChange to be introduced in a flexible and engaging way.

Key discussion points included:

  • how ESG frameworks can support better project planning and decision-making
  • the integration of sustainability metrics into regional development strategies
  • the need for practical tools to implement ESG principles across sectors

Participants showed particular interest in applying ESG concepts within their own organizational and policy contexts.

Strengthening Visibility Across Regional Ecosystems

The project’s visibility was reinforced through:

  • direct engagement with institutional and industry stakeholders
  • post-event communication via European Academy channels
  • online dissemination highlighting ESG4PMChange within broader EU initiatives

By connecting with a diverse audience at a high-profile regional event, ESG4PMChange successfully expanded its reach and reinforced its relevance beyond traditional project management circles—demonstrating how ESG principles can support sustainable, innovation-driven development across sectors.
