The ESG4PMChange project was recently showcased at the GR digiGOV-innoHUB Weekly Governance Forum, a prominent online platform dedicated to public sector innovation and digital transformation. The session brought together a diverse European audience to explore how governance systems can evolve through digital tools, open standards, and sustainable practices.

Bridging Project Management and Sustainability

During the forum, the PM² Alliance, in collaboration with the European Academy, presented the PM² Project Management Methodology alongside key ESG4PMChange initiatives. The session positioned PM² as a practical, open-access framework that supports transparent project delivery while aligning policy goals with measurable outcomes.

A key focus was how ESG4PMChange builds on this methodology to integrate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles directly into project design, execution, and monitoring.

From Methodology to Competency Development

The presentation highlighted several core elements of the ESG4PMChange project:

  • Development of a standardised ESG learning framework for higher education and vocational training
  • Introduction of micro-credentials and digital badges to validate ESG competencies
  • Use of Living Labs to apply ESG principles in real-world project scenarios
  • Embedding ESG criteria into PM² workflows and governance structures

This approach positions project management not only as a delivery tool, but as a strategic enabler of sustainability and the green-digital transition.

Strong Interest from Public Sector and Academia

The session gathered around 70 participants, including public administration representatives, academics, VET providers, SMEs, and civil society organisations. This multi-stakeholder audience reflects the growing relevance of ESG competencies across sectors.

Participants responded positively, particularly highlighting:

  • The importance of addressing ESG skills gaps in project management
  • The value of flexible learning pathways through micro-credentials
  • The practical applicability of ESG4PMChange tools in both education and professional contexts

Expanding Visibility and Collaboration Opportunities

The forum provided a valuable platform to increase awareness of ESG4PMChange among key European stakeholders. Follow-up dissemination included:

  • Promotion via GR digiGOV-innoHUB communication channels
  • Social media coverage by project partners
  • A dedicated post-event feature on the PM² Alliance website

By connecting project management methodology, digital governance, and ESG competencies, ESG4PMChange continues to strengthen its role in shaping future-ready, sustainability-driven project professionals across Europe.
