Professionals from different sectors strengthened their understanding of environmental, social, and governance principles during the training “Sustainable Business in Action: Manage the Process of Creating Your ESG Report” in Novi Sad. Organised by Energy Net DOO and Advise Institute DOO, the event also provided an opportunity to present and promote the Erasmus+ project “The ESG Imperative for the Project Management World: Alliance for Developing and Empowering Changemakers – ESG4PMChange.”

Turning ESG Principles into Business Practice

The interactive training combined theoretical presentations, practical exercises, collaborative discussions, case-based examples, and open question-and-answer sessions. Participants explored how ESG principles can be integrated into organisational strategies, project activities, decision-making processes, and sustainability reporting.

Particular attention was given to interpreting and managing ESG-related data, monitoring relevant indicators, communicating sustainability information, and understanding reporting requirements shaped by evolving regulatory and market expectations.

The practice-oriented approach enabled participants to consider ESG not only as a regulatory obligation, but also as a useful framework for improving organisational sustainability, resilience, and competitiveness.

Connecting Professional Experience and New Approaches

The event brought together ten participants from Novi Sad and Belgrade, including nine women and one man. They represented sustainability, environmental management, engineering, energy, consulting, business development, and public infrastructure.

The group included both early-career professionals and experts with more than 20 years of professional experience. This multidisciplinary structure encouraged participants to exchange perspectives and examine ESG principles from operational, strategic, organisational, and project management viewpoints.

Experienced ESG professionals and practitioners led the training, connecting theoretical concepts with practical examples from sustainability reporting and ESG-oriented organisational development.

ESG4PMChange Opens New Opportunities for Engagement

A dedicated part of the training introduced the objectives, expected results, and planned activities of ESG4PMChange. Participants discussed the importance of integrating ESG competencies into project management education, vocational education and training, and professional development.

Through surveys and interactive discussions, they were invited to share their expectations, additional training needs, and interest in future project activities, networking, pilot programmes, and cooperation opportunities.

All registered participants attended the training, demonstrating strong interest in ESG integration, sustainable project management, and reporting practices. Several participants also expressed an interest in receiving future updates and remaining involved in upcoming ESG4PMChange activities.

Building Skills for Sustainable and Resilient Organisations

By combining practical ESG training with project promotion and stakeholder engagement, the event contributed to strengthening ESG-related competencies and addressing educational gaps in ESG-oriented project management.

The activity also increased the visibility of ESG4PMChange through online promotion, including LinkedIn and Instagram content, while supporting dialogue with professionals from different sectors.

Connecting practical tools, professional experience, and project-based learning helped advance the ESG4PMChange mission of developing applicable ESG knowledge and preparing professionals and organisations for increasingly important sustainability and market requirements.
