As part of its strategic outreach activities, the ESG4PMChange project was presented to senior officials from the Ministry of Health of Turkey during a dedicated online meeting. The session served as a key step in aligning the project’s objectives with the priorities of national public health initiatives. Organized by the European Academy, the meeting focused on introducing the potential of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) integration into public sector project management—particularly within the context of health-related programs and reforms.

Delivered in a concise and interactive seminar format, the presentation emphasized the importance of developing ESG-oriented competencies among public managers and health professionals. Project representatives provided an overview of the project’s framework, tools, and goals, highlighting how ESG4PMChange aligns with EU sustainability ambitions and could support the transformation of project governance in health policy implementation.

📌 The meeting laid the groundwork for future collaboration by building institutional awareness and interest at the decision-making level—an essential condition for long-term integration of ESG approaches in public administration.

Building Foundations for Long-Term Collaboration and Policy Alignment

The event’s success was not only in raising awareness, but in establishing a strategic dialogue with a key government body, positioning ESG4PMChange as a practical and timely initiative. The project was presented as:

  • A model for enhancing sustainability in public projects
  • A bridge between academic research and applied policy tools
  • A source of training and capacity-building opportunities tailored to the needs of national institutions

Attendees included senior policy advisors and project coordinators from within the Ministry of Health, with professional backgrounds in health system management, public planning, and EU program alignment. Their participation ensured that the discussion remained focused on real-world policy implementation, bridging theory and practice.

The feedback was notably positive: participants recognized the value of ESG4PMChange in fostering transparent, responsible, and goal-oriented project execution within government systems. They expressed interest in staying updated on the project’s progress, including upcoming webinars and educational components. Importantly, they also indicated a willingness to explore more formal cooperation in later project phases.

Focused Engagement, High-Level Impact

Although conducted as a closed session, the meeting was strategically significant in positioning the project within a public health governance context. Rather than focusing on external visibility, the emphasis was on relationship-building and institutional trust—two pillars critical for effective public sector adoption.

This first step in engaging the Turkish Ministry of Health will be followed by similar interactions with other regional and national bodies, including:

  • The Central Denmark Region
  • The North East Region in Romania
  • The National School of Public Administration in Greece
  • The Maltese Government
Other entities aligned with the project’s strategic aims

This structured, high-level engagement approach ensures that ESG4PMChange is aligned with public needs, responsive to policy environments, and supported by stakeholders who are positioned to implement change.
