On June 3, 2025, the ESG4PMChange project was presented at the high-profile event Managing EU-Funded Projects with PM², held at the Hellenic American Union in Athens, Greece. The event was organized by the PM² Alliance, the European Academy, and the Hellenic American Union, and brought together professionals and institutions involved in the design and implementation of EU-funded projects

Representing ESG4PMChange, Dr. Danijela Ćirić Lalić (Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad) joined the expert panel, sharing insights on how the project contributes to strengthening ESG-related competencies in project management. Her intervention emphasized the need for integrating environmental, social, and governance dimensions across all stages of the project lifecycle — in alignment with key European policy instruments such as the European Green Deal, CSRD, and the Digital Decade strategy.
“The ESG4PMChange project operationalizes a vision of project management that is not only efficient but also ethical, inclusive, and sustainability-oriented. It is about equipping professionals with the skills and mindsets needed to navigate complexity and deliver lasting value,” said Dr. Ćirić Lalić during the panel.
Building Recognition and Collaboration
The event featured presentations and exchanges around key topics such as PM² methodology, governance structures, project planning, closure, and sustainability assurance. The PM² Addendum for EU-Funded Projects, presented by Nicos Kourounakis, sparked particular interest among participants aiming to align their internal processes with European Commission standards.
Within this context, ESG4PMChange was recognized as a forward-looking capacity-building initiative that supports the integration of sustainability and responsibility into EU project delivery. The project generated strong interest from both academic and practitioner audiences, particularly those looking to embed ESG criteria in project design, monitoring, and long-term impact planning.
Numerous participants expressed interest in further exploring the tools, training modules, and research outputs developed within the ESG4PMChange framework — positioning the project as a valuable contributor to the future of project management in Europe.

Looking Ahead
Participation in this event marked another milestone in the visibility and outreach of ESG4PMChange. By contributing to strategic discussions and building new partnerships, the project continues to support the transformation of project management culture in line with Europe’s twin green and digital transition priorities.
