The Department of Management (DiSA-Dipartimento di Scienze Aziendali) of the Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna has grown rapidly in national and international recognition and stands in leading positions in international research rankings.The Department of Management was founded in 1983 and nowadays has three different branches in Bologna, Forlì, and Rimini, counting about 100 faculties, and is a point of reference for teaching and research activities in Management and all its disciplines.

DiSA provides a dynamic research environment in which faculty members and distinguished visiting conduct applied and theoretical research areas ranging from
Accounting, Banking, and Finance to Entrepreneurship and innovation, Marketing, Organization, and Human Resources, Arts and cultural organizations, Social management, and sustainability, and Strategy.
The Department publishes in major scientific journals, is involved in several research collaborations, and is strongly committed to competitive research, contributing to scientific progress and carrying out its institutional missions in the best possible way. Besides that, DiSA organizes Ph.D. programs and is among the founders and principal academic partners of the Bologna Business School (BBS), which offers a broad portfolio of educational programs; in 2018 opened a Yunus Social Business Center in Forlì on topics related to sustainable entrepreneurship and sustainable innovation.
