How does the location of tourism activities affect natural resources, cultural heritage and the lives of local residents? Undergraduate tourism students explored this question during a presentation of the Erasmus+ project ESG4PMChange in their Tourism Geography course at the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism, University of Split.

Students learned about the project’s objectives and discussed how environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles can guide decisions about the development of tourism destinations. The discussion focused on the pressures that arise when tourism activities are concentrated in particular areas. Students considered how destination managers can take local communities’ needs into account while protecting natural and cultural resources.

Students took an active part in the discussion and concluded the session with an interactive quiz on ESG principles and the aims of ESG4PMChange.
